Xi Congratulates PLA Daily on 70th Anniversary
Xi, who also serves as general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), conveyed warm greetings to the newspaper’s staff on behalf of both the CPC Central Committee and the CMC.
In his letter, Xi highlighted the PLA Daily’s vital role over the past seven decades in preserving the traditions of the Party and the armed forces, cultivating generations of revolutionary officers and soldiers, and supporting the growth of China’s military.
He emphasized that the newspaper should remain true to its core principles while embracing innovation, and work toward building a stronger, modern military communication system. This, Xi noted, would contribute to the creation of a powerful force for the modernization of national defense and the armed forces.
A commemorative meeting was held in Beijing on Wednesday, where Xi’s letter was read aloud by Zhang Shengmin, vice chairman of the CMC.
Zhang added that the PLA Daily must continue to faithfully represent the voice of the CPC Central Committee and the CMC, while offering strong ideological and public support to advance the mission of building a robust military.
